I discovered that the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, located in Hamburg, Germany, holds a global mandate for promoting lifelong learning with a focus on adult learning, continuing education, literacy and non-formal basic education. With this discovery, I established Penmark Academy to promote lifelong learning by supplementing what people learn in schools, polytechnics, colleges and universities. Students with deficiencies in their basic or secondary school education need lifelong learning to solidify the foundation for further studies. Slow learners in tertiary institutions of learning require it to boost their learning capacities while workers seeking to avoid embarrassment from incompetence cannot do without it. As the world is changing very fast, and skills acquired during long periods of studies are becoming irrelevant after graduation, lifelong learning is a must for managers, administrators, teachers, lecturers and professionals needing to update their knowledge and skills or acquire skills related to ICT, Artificial Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence, etc., to improve their service delivery.
